As part of the 30th anniversary of the Toronto punk and new wave scene, original members of those early bands have been joining the Screwed on stage to play some of the classic songs from those days.
ToBeScene’s Aldo Erdic captured a lot of those cool performances, such as members from the “B” Girls doing Teenage Head songs and members from the Forgotten Rebels doing a Diodes song.
The Screwed are a Toronto based band playing vintage punk and garage rock covers from the late 60’s to late 70’s. Here’s a Canadian punk rock classic written by the Demics…”New York City”.
Guitarist Steve Koch played with the Demics in the early 1980s. He also played with Viletones in 1979. Drummer Cleave Anderson was a member of Battered Wives and Blue Rodeo. Bassist John Borra was with A Neon Rome and Change of Heart. And vocalist Steve Saint was with the Sinisters. Cleave and John also played with Viletones in 2006.
